About the role
VSC Fire & Security is seeking a Recruiting Coordinator to join our team in Richmond, Virginia. The ideal candidate will have proven experience as a recruiting coordinator or similar role, along with knowledge of employment laws and exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for interview coordination, managing scheduling across multiple calendars and hiring managers.
- Screen and review resumes and applications.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for candidates, answering questions, providing updates, and ensuring candidates have the best experience.
- Represent the company as a VSC ambassador, interacting with candidates both on the phone and at hiring events.
- Aid hiring managers in posting requisitions, determining pay rate ranges, and disposition of candidates.
- Coordinate new hire onboarding activities, including orientation, paperwork, and I-9s.
- Address employee inquiries and concerns, provide guidance on HR policies and procedures, and foster a positive work environment.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state employment laws and regulations.
- Compile recruiting data, generate reports, and analyze trends to provide insights for management decision-making.
- Participate in ad hoc process improvement initiatives and other projects.
Requirements
- Proven experience (6 months - 1 years) as a recruiting coordinator or similar role, demonstrating a solid understanding of hiring principles and practices.
- Knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
- Experience providing exceptional candidate or customer experience.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
- Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Proficient in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment.
- (Desirable but not required): Bilingual.
