About the role

VSC Fire & Security is seeking a Recruiting Coordinator to join our team in Richmond, Virginia. The ideal candidate will have proven experience as a recruiting coordinator or similar role, along with knowledge of employment laws and exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for interview coordination, managing scheduling across multiple calendars and multiple hiring managers.
  • Screen and review resumes and applications.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for candidates, answering questions, providing updates, and ensuring candidates have the best experience.
  • Represent the company as a VSC ambassador, including on the phone or at hiring events.
  • Aid hiring managers in posting of requisitions, determining pay rate ranges, and disposition of candidates.
  • Coordinate new hire onboarding activities, including orientation, paperwork, and I-9s.
  • Address employee inquiries and concerns, provide guidance on HR policies and procedures, and foster a positive work environment.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state employment laws and regulations.
  • Compile recruiting data, generate reports, and analyze trends to provide insights for management decision-making.
  • Participate in ad hoc process improvement initiatives and other projects.

Requirements

  • Proven experience (6 months - 1 years) as a recruiting coordinator or similar role, demonstrating a solid understanding of hiring principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
  • Experience providing exceptional candidate or customer experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Proficient in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  • (Desirable but not required): Bilingual
