About the Role
The ideal candidate will focus on recruiting Security Officers by identifying potential sources, developing relationships, and conducting initial interviews. This role involves working with various agencies, participating in job fairs, and managing media campaigns to secure qualified candidates.
Responsibilities
- Identify potential sources for recruiting Security Officers, including job fairs, associations, community organizations, government agencies, military transition centers, vocational/technical schools, colleges, and universities.
- Develop ongoing relationships to increase applicant flow through on-site visits and engagement with potential sources.
- Determine effective media campaigns (e.g., advertising in print, radio, television, posters, flyers) with guidance from management.
- Conduct initial interviews and refer candidates to Branch offices for secondary interviews and screening.
- Participate in applicant screening, administer surveys and interview tools, and refer potential candidates for follow-up interviews.
- Review employment applications, evaluate work history, education, training, skills, compensation needs, and other qualifications.
- Match applicants with job requirements using manual or computerized file search methods.
- Inform applicants about job duties, responsibilities, compensation, benefits, work schedules, working conditions, company policies, and promotional opportunities.
- Maintain records of applicants not selected for employment.
- Perform additional tasks and duties of a similar nature as required.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must have a reliable means of communication (e.g., phone or pager).
- Must have a reliable means of transportation (public or private).
- Must have the legal right to work in the United States.
- Must be able to speak, read, and write English.
- Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
- Must be willing to participate in the Company’s pre-employment screening process, including drug screen and background investigation.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED and 2 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Understanding of recruiting methods, sources, and regulations related to the hiring process.
- Thorough understanding of standard office procedures and practices.
- Ability to interpret instructions in written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule form.
- Proficiency in using personal computers and office productivity software (e.g., Excel, Smartsheet).
- Strong interviewing skills and ability to write original correspondence.
- Planning, organizing, and project coordination skills.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
- Ability to interact effectively at all levels and across diverse cultures.
- Ability to be an effective team member and handle projects responsibly.
- Strong customer and results orientation.
Working Conditions
- Requires the physical and mental capacity to perform all essential functions, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Maintaining composure in dealing with authorities, executives, clients, staff, and the public, occasionally under urgency and pressure.
- Must meet company standards for background checks, reference checks, controlled substance testing, and behavioral selection survey.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently.
- Regular computer usage and handling of sensitive and confidential information.
- Occasional to frequent use of a vehicle for job duties.
- Regular talking and hearing.
- Frequent lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 25 pounds.
- Close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.
