About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Recruitment Specialist to join our Human Resources team. In this role, you will manage the full lifecycle of staff recruitment across various schools, divisions, and affiliates within Emory University. Your primary focus will be to attract, evaluate, and onboard qualified candidates to support the university’s strategic staffing needs. Responsibilities
- Manage a high volume of full lifecycle recruitment for staff vacancies across multiple departments, including regular, part-time, and temporary positions.
- Collaborate with hiring managers to define recruitment criteria and develop targeted sourcing strategies.
- Source and screen candidates directly, utilizing various channels to build a diverse applicant pool.
- Partner with HR business partners to attract, evaluate, and recommend top candidates throughout the employment process.
- Review internal equity, professional tenure, and market trends to ensure competitive and fair compensation offerings.
- Ensure the applicant referral pool reflects a diverse range of qualified candidates, adhering to equal opportunity and affirmative action goals.
- Recommend appropriate starting salaries for final candidates based on market data and internal policies.
- Oversee pre-employment procedures, including reference checks, background screening, employment verification, and health assessments, ensuring compliance with university standards.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance recruitment efficiency and effectiveness.
- Develop long-term recruitment strategies by attending career fairs, creating recruiting materials, and maintaining industry contacts.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation to ensure compliance with OFCCP and DOL EEO regulations.
- Compose employment advertisements and coordinate with external advertising sources to attract suitable candidates.
- Advise HR partners on organizational policies, procedures, and best practices related to recruitment and staffing.
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned to support the university’s staffing objectives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of one year of experience in staffing, recruiting, or a related HR function, either within an in-house HR team or staffing agency.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in applicant tracking systems and data manipulation in Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to develop and implement recruitment strategies and materials.
- Knowledge of federal and state employment laws, including EEO and affirmative action regulations.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Residency in the state of Georgia is required.
