Recruiter
About the role
Hoist & Crane Service Group is seeking a skilled Recruiter to join our HR team. The Recruiter works to strategically optimize all aspects of the recruitment process, delivering recruitment support to all HCSG branches. This position involves developing innovative recruitment and sourcing plans, advertising jobs, screening applicants, and interviewing candidates. The recruiter will engage in activities to produce a qualified applicant pool for job vacancies in advance of need, manage recruitment reporting, applicant flow, and other recruitment-related activities while demonstrating the organization’s mission and vision.
Responsibilities
- Confer with VP of Recruiting and/or Sr. HR Director to identify recruiting needs and develop effective recruiting plans and strategies
- Source applicants through various methods including advertising, recruiters, job sites, career fairs, and online platforms
- Network with technical schools and universities to develop recruitment programs for all HCSG locations
- Work with external headhunters and staffing agencies to identify talent for administrative/professional open positions
- Maintain effective relationships with social and professional networks (e.g., LinkedIn, CareerBuilder, ZipRecruiter) to source qualified candidates
- Coordinate with the marketing department to create and distribute HCSG brand material and recruitment supplies
- Travel to local/non-local job fairs to market the organization and recruit qualified talent
- Ensure compliance with federal and state legislation in the full-cycle recruitment process
- Maintain recruiting metrics (e.g., cost per hire)
- Align job candidate profiles with staffing objectives
- Develop staffing plans with Zone Managers to identify needs for each branch location (weekly meetings) and provide regular updates
- Create and submit rejection letters
- Create, maintain, and update all HCSG job postings
- Facilitate and coordinate applicant online testing and scoring
- Pre-screen all qualified applicants and conduct phone interviews, if applicable
- Review resumes and qualifications to determine suitable candidates
- Manage the applicant tracking system in the organization’s HRIS
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, or Marketing
- 3–7 years of Sales/Marketing experience, with an emphasis in headhunting
- 3–7 years of Recruiter experience and knowledge of general principles of recruiting
- 3–7 years of experience in managing applicant tracking systems
- 3–7 years of experience in candidate sourcing solutions
- Knowledge of relevant social media platforms
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Professional experience in a fast-paced, mid-to-large-sized company with the ability to multitask
- Knowledge of various local, state, and federal employment laws
- Ability to assess areas needing improvement and implement effective recruiting strategies independently
- Strong planning, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a team setting and possess negotiation skills
- Must maintain confidentiality
- Must pass drug, alcohol, background, and motor vehicle checks
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree with a concentration in Human Resources or related field
- PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SCP certification
- Knowledge of HRIS software
- Track record of aggressive recruitment/sales
