Recreational Therapist- Full-Time Monday-Friday
About the Role
We are searching for a Full-Time Recreational Therapist to work in our residential programs located in Raleigh, NC. This role assists in the development and implementation of a comprehensive recreational and cognitive rehabilitation program, which includes both group and individual activities in the residence and the community. The Recreational Therapist oversees individual recreational programs of assigned clients, provides cognitive rehabilitation sessions, completes initial assessments, monitors monthly progress, and prepares all necessary discharge plans in collaboration with the team.
This role provides minimum to maximum assistance and/or supervision to promote clients’ success in daily living tasks, vocational/volunteer pursuits, and recreation activities. Responsibilities include running the program's day program, evaluations, individual therapy, and team consultation.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive recreational and cognitive rehabilitation program, including group and individual activities.
- Oversee individual recreational programs for assigned clients.
- Provide cognitive rehabilitation sessions.
- Complete initial assessments and monitor monthly progress.
- Prepare discharge plans in collaboration with the team.
- Provide assistance and supervision to promote clients’ success in daily living tasks, vocational/volunteer pursuits, and recreation activities.
- Run the program's day program, evaluations, individual therapy, and team consultation.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in therapeutic recreation or a related field.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must have a valid driver's license and maintain responsible driving behaviors.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
