Recreational Therapist (CTRS)-Full-Time (Monday-Friday 8a-4p)

ReMed, a Collage Rehabilitation Partner, is a growing organization dedicated to providing exceptional neurological rehabilitation to adults with brain injury. For more than 40 years, we've developed programs to meet the diverse needs of clients with moderate to severe traumatic and acquired brain injuries, including post-concussion syndrome, stroke, memory loss, neurobehavioral issues, and accident or sports-related head injuries.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the development and implementation of a comprehensive recreational program, including both group and individual activities in the residence and the community
• Oversee the individual recreational programs of assigned clients
• Complete initial assessments, monitor monthly progress, and prepare all necessary discharge plans
• Work directly with the client to provide direct care and provide minimum to maximum assistance and/or supervision to promote the client's success in achieving identified treatment goals
• Assist clients with personal financial management and develop appropriate strategies and systems as needed to promote independence
• Apply knowledge and consideration of the client's available financial resources, living arrangements, and support networks to provide therapeutic recreation, leisure education and opportunities for participation that are designed to facilitate clients' development of a balanced lifestyle (home, work, free time)

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in therapeutic recreation or a related field is required
• CTRS certification is required
• Possession of a valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record must be maintained at all times
• Experience/willingness to facilitate recreational activities in the residence and community is necessary
• Effective communication with families, professionals, and coworkers is essential
• The ability to demonstrate positive client interaction skills is essential
• Competence in writing, planning, organization, and documentation, as well as time management skills, is required
