Recreational Therapist (CTRS)- Full-Time Monday-Friday
About the role
This full-time role assists in the development and implementation of a comprehensive recreational and cognitive rehab program, which includes both group and individual activities in the residence and the community. The Recreational Therapist oversees the individual recreational programs of assigned clients; provides cognitive rehab sessions; completes initial assessments, monitors monthly progress, and prepares all necessary discharge plans in collaboration with the team. The role also provides minimum to maximum assistance and/or supervision to promote clients’ success in daily living tasks and vocational/volunteer pursuits, in addition to recreation activities, and is responsible for running the program’s day program, evaluations, individual therapy, and team consultation.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement recreational and cognitive rehab programs (group and individual)
- Oversee individual recreational programs for assigned clients
- Provide cognitive rehab sessions
- Complete initial assessments and monitor monthly progress
- Prepare discharge plans in collaboration with the clinical team
- Provide assistance and/or supervision to support clients in daily living, vocational, and volunteer pursuits
- Run the program’s day program, evaluations, individual therapy, and team consultation
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in therapeutic recreation or related field
- At least 18 years of age
- A valid driver’s license and responsible driving behaviors
- Ability to lift 50 lbs
