Recreational Services Aide Duties and Responsibilities
- Implements activity programming as planned and assigned to meet the functional levels, needs and interests of each resident.
- Affords assistance to residents to and from activity programs and outings.
- Maintains positive relationships with family members and encourages their involvement in programs.
- Provides feedback on resident participation upon request.
- Communicates resident concerns and responses to interventions to the immediate supervisor.
- Serves the individual needs, preferences, customary routines, and choices of each resident.
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
- Positive, effective, and appropriate communication skills to perform tasks and lead groups in activities.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least one year of prior experience in a relevant role, preferred.
- At least one year of experience working in a healthcare setting.
Physical Requirements
- Walking, reaching, bending, lifting, extended sitting, grasping, fine hand coordination, pushing and pulling.
- Ability to distinguish smells and temperatures, all with or without the aid of mechanical devices.
