Recreation Therapist/UKHC
About the role
A Recreation Therapist plans, implements, coordinates, and participates in the conducting of therapeutic recreational activities for client groups. Therapists conduct assessments, make treatment recommendations specific to the discipline and client needs, and communicate this information to appropriate team members. Therapists function as a member of a multidisciplinary treatment team managing delegated aspects of clinical client issues. Patient responses and progress are communicated via rounds, written documentation, staff meetings and case conferences. The therapist is also responsible for ordering, storing, tracking, and resolving issues related recreation equipment.
Responsibilities
- Plans, implements, and coordinates therapeutic recreational activities for client groups.
- Conducts assessments and makes treatment recommendations specific to the discipline and client needs.
- Communicates assessment results and treatment recommendations to appropriate team members.
- Functions as a member of a multidisciplinary treatment team managing delegated aspects of clinical client issues.
- Communicates patient responses and progress via rounds, written documentation, staff meetings, and case conferences.
- Orders, stores, tracks, and resolves issues related to recreation equipment.
Requirements
- BS in Recreation Therapy or related field.
- Certified Therapeutic Recreation Therapist (CTRT).
Qualifications
- No experience required.

$19.00-30.09/hour
Schedule
Primarily Monday-Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm with occasional nights and weekends per departmental needs.
