Responsible for the management of well-rounded recreation, avocation programs, and the Student Government Association (SGA) in compliance with government and management directives. Essential Functions Plan, coordinate and supervise the administrative and programmatic activities of the departmentProvide staff training, evaluate staff performanceAssist with the development of the departmental budget; monitor and control expenditures; review and recommend changes to budget authorizationsAssist with the development and implement new and revised policies and procedures affecting recreation and student government; coordinate with other departments to promote center objectivesRegularly assess and audit department for contractual compliance and quality of services to students; prepare audit and assessment reportsRegularly inspect facility; maintain quality standardsOversee operation of all recreational facilities and programs; ensure proper health and sanitation standards are maintainedDevelop and distribute weekly, monthly and annual recreational and avocational plans and schedules of activitiesDevelop physical fitness, recreational and social activities to comply with and support overall goals for student development and the HEALS program. Assist with the development of curriculaDevelop and maintain personnel shift schedules for programmatic coverage seven days a weekEstablish and maintain linkages with community resources providing recreational opportunities for studentsCoordinate recreation, avocation, and social activities with other centers in the regionLog responsible activities into the MTC Student App and ensure timely responses to student requests to registerProvide positive, quality customer services to students, staff and other center customersParticipate in student employability programs and activitiesSupport, promote, and enforce the Job Corps’ Zero Tolerance PolicyPromote the development of Career Success Standards by modeling appropriate behaviors, mentoring students where necessary and monitoring both positive and negative behaviors through interventionsMaintain accountability of staff, students and property; adhere to safety practices. Education & Experience Post-secondary degree and three years’ experience working with youth and young adults, one of which should be in a supervisory capacityExcellent written and verbal communications skills and computer proficiency requiredValid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record Management & Training Corporation (MTC) is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
