Recreation Supervisor

CoreCivic is seeking a Recreation Supervisor to plan and supervise the recreational program in a secure, institutional setting. The role involves developing activities that meet the needs, interests, and abilities of the inmate/resident population, coordinating special events, and ensuring safety, security, and sanitation of recreation areas.

Responsibilities

• Plan and supervise the facility’s recreational program.
• Coordinate special events such as tournaments and contests.
• Develop recreational activities that meet the needs, interests, and abilities of the inmate/resident population.
• Supervise recreation staff, evaluate performance, and enforce facility and company policies.
• Monitor inmate/resident recreation activities and craft shop operations for compliance with policies, procedures, and standards.
• Arrange equipment and facilities in designated areas as required.
• Conduct regular inspections of recreational areas to ensure safety, security, and sanitation in accordance with policy and regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Recreational Management, Kinesiology, Physical Education, or a related field from an accredited college or university (required).
• At least one year of experience supervising recreation or leisure activities (required).
• Experience in a correctional setting (preferred).
• Additional related recreation experience may substitute for the required education on a year‑for‑year basis.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office or similar software applications (required).
• Valid driver’s license (required).
• Minimum age of 21 years.
