Recreation/Music Therapist
St. Louis Forensic Treatment Center, North Campus, is seeking a positive, energetic, and caring individual for a full-time Recreation/Music Therapist position. The Recreation/Music Therapist plays a vital role as part of an interdisciplinary treatment team serving individuals court-ordered to the Department of Mental Health for inpatient psychiatric treatment, with the goal of restoring competency to proceed in their legal case. Successful candidates will demonstrate compassion and an ability to work in a trauma-informed and recovery-based environment.
Responsibilities
- Assessment of basic skill functioning related to services provided through the Rehabilitation Services Department.
- Planning and implementing a wide range of treatment groups designed to meet the social, vocational, emotional, cognitive, and physical needs of clients.
- Case management including developing and maintaining individual treatment plans and related documentation, individual therapy, goal setting, family contact, and client advocacy.
- Attending and participating in multi-disciplinary team meetings, program meetings, and department meetings.
- Competency in the implementation of assigned psychosocial program principles and procedures, as well as program and departmental documentation expectations.
Requirements
- College degree in Therapeutic Recreation, Music Therapy, or related field.
- CTRS or MT-BC preferred, but not required.

Pay
Semi-monthly salary: $1,848.91.
Schedule
Day shift with Saturday and Sunday off.
