Recreation Coordinator: Youth & Adult Sports

About the role

The Recreation Coordinator is the front-line leader of CARD's Sports Department, overseeing on-site Youth and Adult Sports programs during evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Youth and Adult Sports programs on-site during evenings and weekends.
• Make sound, real-time decisions to protect the integrity of the program, the community, and the District.
• Primary liaison between participants, on-site staff, and Sports Management.
• Spot issues before they escalate and ensure every program is safe, fun, and positive for participants.
• Act with high integrity and trustworthiness, consistently doing what's right for CARD even when no one's watching.

Requirements

• Strong critical thinking and independent judgment.
• Calm and decisive when problems arise mid-program.
• Experience in youth or adult sports leagues, officiating, coaching, or recreation programming is a plus, but not required.
• The ability to manage people, conflict, and logistics in real time is the core requirement.

Schedule / Work Hours

Hourly, Non-exempt, full-time. Initial schedule (subject to change): Monday through Friday, 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Transitioning to (subject to change): Tuesday through Friday, 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., and Saturday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
