About the role

The Recreation Coordinator at River Road provides activities of a physical, mental, and spiritual nature tailored to the individual abilities, needs, and desires of those served. Responsibilities include planning and executing activities that enhance the quality of life for residents.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement a variety of recreational activities that promote physical, mental, and emotional well-being.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure activities meet the diverse needs of residents.
• Assess resident interests and preferences to tailor activities that are engaging and meaningful.
• Coordinate with external vendors for special events and guest speakers.
• Document activities and their impact on residents' well-being.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Therapeutic Recreation, Creative Arts Therapy, or related field.
• Certified as an Activity Director (ADC).
• Minimum two years’ experience in long-term care and/or dementia care.
• Current driver’s license in good standing.
• Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Passenger Endorsement may be required within six months of employment.
• Flu vaccine required during flu season.

Qualifications

• Experience in creating and managing activity programs for seniors.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with residents, staff, and families.
• Ability to adapt activities to accommodate different levels of ability and interest.
• Knowledge of best practices in long-term care and dementia care.

Skills

• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize responsibilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Pay

$23.00 hourly rate.

Schedule

9:00am-5:00pm with flexibility for one 11:00am - 7:00pm shift weekly, including every other weekend.
