About the Role

The Recreation Coordinator will provide activities of a physical, mental, and spiritual nature tailored to the individual abilities, needs, and desires of those we serve in order to enable them to enjoy the highest quality of life.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement recreational activities tailored to residents' abilities, needs, and preferences.
  • Support physical, mental, and spiritual well-being through engaging programs.

Requirements

  • B.A. or B.S. in Therapeutic Recreation, Creative Arts Therapy, or a related field preferred.
  • Certified or eligible for certification as an Activity Director Certified (ADC) within one year.
  • Minimum two years’ experience in long-term care and/or dementia care preferred.
  • Current driver’s license in good standing required.
  • Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Passenger Endorsement may be required within six months of employment.
  • Flu vaccine required during flu season.

Pay

$23.00 hourly rate.

Schedule

8:00 AM – 4:00 PM, including every other weekend.

About the Team

Parker at Monroe nursing care residence provides nursing and memory care services to individuals with all stages of dementia, including those with complex physical needs. The campus consists of six "small homes," each housing sixteen elders with similar needs. Designed to promote independence, dignity, and a sense of community, Parker at Monroe is an Eden Alternative® registered home, transforming long-term care into person-centered communities with varied and meaningful activities.
