About the role
The City of Wilmington seeks a Recreation Coordinator to develop and implement engaging recreation programs for young children and their families at the Fit For Fun Center. Key responsibilities include planning and overseeing programs, managing facilities, and enforcing safety regulations.
Responsibilities
- Supervise facility operation
- Enforce City and facility rules and regulations
- Clean and sanitize toys and equipment
- Engage with families and monitor creative play
- Manage confrontational situations with the public
- Direct and control large groups
- Develop and implement recreation programs and activities
- Perform administrative duties using RecTrac Software
Requirements
- Education & Experience: Associate's degree in Recreation Management, Education, Early Childhood Education, or closely related field and one (1) year of age-appropriate programming or teaching experience. OR High school diploma or GED and three (3) years of age-appropriate programming or teaching experience.
- Other Requirements: Valid driver's license, ability to obtain CPR/AED certification upon hire, ability to work weekends.
