Recreation Aide

Responsibilities

• Monitor, plan, and direct students engaged in center-sponsored recreational activities both on and off center
• Use creative skills to teach healthy and fun extracurricular activities
• Report to the recreation manager or designated supervisor
• Ensure effective operations of the student union snack bar
• Assist the recreation manager in planning, implementing, and coordinating a comprehensive and diversified program that attracts voluntary participation
• Organize and supervise student participation in a variety of recreation activities
• Conduct and coordinate recreation activities
• Support, promote, and enforce the Job Corps' Zero Tolerance Policy
• Promote Career Success Standards by modeling appropriate behaviors, mentoring students, and monitoring positive and negative behaviors through interventions
• Maintain accountability of students and property; adhere to safety practices
• Cultivate and maintain a climate free of harassment, intimidation, and disrespect to provide a safe place for staff and students

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• One (1) year of recreation experience
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Computer proficiency
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record

Pay

$17.20 per hour

Schedule

Full Time, 8 hr. 2nd shift (varies)
