About the role
The Adult Day Care Department is seeking a full-time Therapeutic Recreation Aide to deliver exceptional care for our participants. You will be scheduled to work Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 4:30pm with a possible weekend rotation.
Responsibilities
- Develop and document individualized intervention goals and plans that are participant-centered, based on assessment, and consistent with legal and professional guidelines.
- Provide accurate and appropriate medical chart documentation under the supervision of the TR Coordinator.
- Plan, organize, and conduct diversified recreation activities using appropriate leadership styles.
- Deliver services based on the TR Service Model and keep accurate statistical reports of activities and participation levels.
- Participate in interdisciplinary care plan meetings and document on the Plan of Care under supervision.
- Develop treatment plans according to the capabilities and interests of participants.
- Monitor, evaluate, and determine the effectiveness of individualized treatment plans.
- Convey participant information to the treatment team in a timely manner.
- Maintain knowledge of current TR trends, techniques, methods, issues, and professional legal standards.
- Keep bulletin boards and lists of participants for special programs up to date.
- Assist in the transportation of residents as appropriate, including to and from recreation areas.
- Foster teamwork, empathy, courteous communication, and respect among staff.
- Actively share knowledge and promote information dissemination related to organizational needs.
Requirements
- High School Graduate.
- Bilingual preferred.
- Expertise in music (singing or playing an instrument) preferred.
- Knowledge of the dementia population and experience dealing with related behaviors.
- Able to recognize when a participant is in pain and take appropriate actions.
- Capable of complying with governmental accreditation, professional, and facility standards and regulations.

Schedule
Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm, with a possible weekend rotation.
