Recreation Aide

Job Description

Affords assistance in planning and promoting all activities to enable students to make choices about their leisure time. Encourages and engages students in participating in community service. Ensures timely safe transportation of students. Assists in making events accessible; ensures adequate equipment, supplies, or other resources for successful events. Maintains regular communication with community and governmental sources such as Fine Arts, Theater, Choral, Drama, Sports, Education and Training, Community Colleges, and volunteer organizations; reports contact weekly. Ensures receipts and unused funds are returned to the account fully for the amount received. Monitors and submits all necessary student excursion sheets, appropriate receipts, and unused funds to maintain program compliance. Ensures adherence to funding limits. Enforces all procedures regarding property and equipment. Communicates and models appropriate CSS and employability skills. Ensures accountability of staff, students, and property. Adheres to safety practices in all areas of responsibility. Fosters and maintains a supportive environment at the center, ensuring it remains free from harassment, intimidation, and disrespect, thus creating a safe space for both staff and students to engage in work and learning. Attends all required staff training opportunities.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent with one year of related experience working with youth required.
• A valid driver’s license in the state of employment with an acceptable driving record.
