Recreation Aide

About the role

NeuroRestorative, a part of the Sevita family, provides rehabilitation services for people of all ages with brain, spinal cord and medically complex injuries, illnesses and other challenges. In a variety of locations and community-based settings, we offer a range of programs, including vocational and therapy programs, day treatments, and specialized services for infants, children, adolescents, Military Service Members and Veterans.

Responsibilities

• Provide and maintain an orderly, safe, clean, and warm therapeutic environment within the Day Program.
• Absorb behavioral concerns, assist with bathroom assistance, and provide general assistance as needed during breaks and lunchtime.
• Assist group leaders and/or run groups as defined by the schedule.
• Assume responsibility for persons served needs/care for cognitive therapists to enable them to return to their scheduled therapies.
• Complete all required documentation as deemed necessary.
• Attend meetings with the team and the supervisor as deemed necessary.
• Attend all training sessions as scheduled by the supervisor.
• Treat clients with respect, dignity, and compassion at all times.
• Maintain a professional attitude at all times and ensure confidentiality of privileged information.
• Cooperate with the licensee and Department of Human Services in any inspection or investigation.
• Perform other related duties and projects as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications

• Possess a minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent.
• Be at least 18 years of age.
• Maintain a current valid driver’s license and all required certifications and tests as required by state of operation.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to multi-task to meet deadlines.
• Effective communication skills to manage relationships.
• Self-motivated and collaborative; a team player.
