Recreation Aid (Leisure Activities) NF-01

This position is located at Tickets and Travels, part of Fort Benning Family & Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR). Open to U.S. Citizens, Nationals, or those who owe allegiance to the U.S., including Non-U.S. Nationals who have resided in the U.S. or U.S. territory for three or more continuous years immediately preceding the start of Federal affiliation.

Responsibilities

• Provides guests with local information concerning available programs and activities, makes individual reservations, answers questions about operated facilities, and delivers prompt, courteous service.
• Prepares marketing materials for leisure activity programs.
• Processes payments, issues receipts, documents business transactions through computer entries, and handles retail sales via cash register.
• Ensures proper internal control procedures for key issues and money transactions.
• Must be familiar with all programs offered by the activity and local area to provide accurate guest information.
• Maintains a positive attitude toward guests at all times.
• May facilitate children’s programs, including sports, recreation, arts and crafts, hiking, and other activities, ensuring they are well-organized and safe.

Requirements

• Direct Deposit and Social Security Card are required.
• A one-year probationary period may be required.
• Must satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
• Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered or exempt from Selective Service (www.sss.gov).
• Must be able to lift and carry 40 pounds.
• Work hours may include weekends, weekdays, holidays, and night duty.
• Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para. 2, and a Child Care Tier 1 background investigation is required.

Qualifications

• No prior work experience is required.
• Must obtain current American Red Cross First Aid and CPR/AED training certification within 6 months of hire.
• Must be able to communicate effectively in English (both written and verbal).
• Must possess and maintain the physical ability to lift and carry 40 pounds, walk, bend, stoop, and stand routinely.
• Duties may involve working both indoors and outdoors.

Additional Information

• This job is part of a pay-banded system.
• Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid.
• Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs are not authorized.
