Recreation Aid (Facility Aid) NF-01

About the Role

This position is located at DLA Columbus in Whitehall, Ohio. The Facility Aid works under the direction of the Facility Manager and assists in the overall operation of a fitness facility.

Responsibilities

• Circulates among patrons to ensure service is satisfactory; provides information and general instruction on the use of equipment, facilities, and machinery.
• Assists in setting up for instructors, contractors, events, athletic activities, and related functions.
• Performs facility cleanliness tasks and/or monitors contracts.
• Assists with publicity of programs and events, including delivery and placement of posters, flyers, and other promotional material.
• Issues and receives equipment to authorized users.
• Monitors fitness equipment condition; tracks maintenance, repair, or replacement as appropriate.
• Cleans and performs minor maintenance on facility equipment.

Requirements

• Direct Deposit and Social Security Card are required.
• Must meet qualification, eligibility, and background requirements for this position.
• A one-year probationary period may be required.
• Must satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
• Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para. 2, including a Tier 1 background investigation.
• Must complete the MWR Orientation Course and Customer Service training within 6 months of employment.

Area of Consideration

This job is open to candidates who live locally, defined as within a 50-mile radius of Whitehall, Ohio. Military Spouse Preference (MSP) and Involuntarily Separated Military Preference (ISMP) eligible candidates are included in the area of consideration.

Pay and Schedule

This job is part of a pay-banded system. Sunday premium pay for regularly scheduled employees and night differential pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander.
