About the Role

Delivers services in various settings to promote recovery and resilience by drawing on personal experience plus skilled learning and formal training in the areas of substance use and behavioral health. Has experience with substance use and behavioral health treatment and recovery and is willing to share their personal and practical experience, knowledge, and first-hand insight to benefit the team and its participants. Personal recovery is well established and provides expertise that professional training cannot replicate.

About the Department

Samaritan Treatment and Recovery Services provide a continuum of substance use services to adults and their families. Members of the team work in a multi-disciplinary approach, in both residential and outpatient settings, providing evidence-based, trauma-informed treatment.

Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively on a multi-disciplinary team to support recovery and resilience for individuals with substance use and behavioral health challenges.
  • Share personal and practical recovery experience, knowledge, and insight to benefit participants and the team.
  • Communicate effectively with diverse populations, including clients, caregivers, and external stakeholders.
  • Perform group presentations, document activities, and facilitate communication across all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrate sensitivity to the needs of others with a non-judgmental attitude toward differing lifestyles, values, and standards.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Certified Recovery Mentor (CRM) or Peer Support Specialist (PSS) certification by the State of Oregon required.
  • Experience and/or training with computer applications preferred.
  • Enrollment in a Human Services Program preferred.
  • For LCH Treatment & Recovery Services: Successful completion of Drivers Privileges for SHS Vehicles application process required.
  • All job offers are contingent upon passing a pre-employment/post-offer drug screen.
