Recovery Support Specialist II
About the role
The Recovery Support Specialist works as an integral member of the assigned program providing coaching & navigation support in the areas of recovery and activities of daily living to adults, children & families receiving services.
Responsibilities
- Performs side by side mentoring, coaching, education and training in the office, the home and community-based settings.
- Participates in all aspects of the treatment team including team meetings & case conferences.
- Works to help persons attain objectives and goals in their individual plans of care.
- Understands the local service delivery and self help system for behavioral health.
- Maintains & manages assigned caseload contingent on needs, strengths, abilities & preferences of the individual & family served.
- Provides direct services designed to assist with eliminating functional deficits & interpersonal and environmental barriers that hinder recovery, and restore social skills for independent living and effective life management.
- Travel is required.
Requirements
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- Driver's License
- Florida Peer/Recovery Support Specialist certification is required.
- 2 years of Recovery experience is required.
Qualifications
- High School or Equivalent
- Associates in behavioral health preferred
