Recovery Specialist 2

About the role

Performs critical functions with regard to collection recoveries and correcting and maintaining member credit bureau information and disputes.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and send charged off accounts to third party collection agency and collection attorney.
• Process third party collection agency and collection attorney payments.
• Pull loan documents and answer basic questions for attorneys and agencies.
• Review settlement offers per matrix.
• Acquire and preserve knowledge of state and federal laws as they pertain to loan collection, loan insurance, and fair credit.
• Oversee the collection, correction, management of and response to all credit bureau information dispute issues.
• Maintain the proper interpretation and submission of credit bureau information and its effect on membership, and also maintain advanced knowledge of the Fair Credit Reporting Act and its attributes.
• Cross-trained and serves as backup to the Loan and Share Mediation Specialist.
• Process recoveries from attorneys and collection recovery agencies.
• Other duties as needed.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree from accredited college or university.
• Minimum two (2) years related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Bilingual individuals who are fluent in a second language in addition to English are highly encouraged to apply.

Pay

$18.91–$22.69 per hour, plus a competitive benefits package.
