Recovery Support Specialist II
About the Role
Delivers services in various settings to promote recovery and resilience by drawing on personal experience plus skilled learning and formal training in the areas of substance use and behavioral health. Has experience with substance use and behavioral health treatment and recovery and is willing to share their personal/practical experience, knowledge, and first-hand insight to benefit the team and its participants. Personal recovery is well established and provides expertise that professional training cannot replicate.
Department
Samaritan Treatment and Recovery Services provide a continuum of substance use services to adults and their families. Members of the team work in a multi-disciplinary approach, in both residential and outpatient settings, providing evidenced, trauma-informed treatment.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Certified Recovery Mentor (CRM) or Peer Support Specialist (PSS) by the State of Oregon required.
- Enrollment in a Human Services Program preferred.
- All job offers are contingent upon the candidate passing a pre-employment/post-offer drug screen.
Requirements
- Healthcare Provider Level BLS required within 90 days of hire (LCH Treatment & Recovery-Residential).
- Successful completion of Food Handler's course or ServSafe certification required within 30 days of hire (LCH Treatment & Recovery-Residential).
- If responsible for driving SHS vehicles, successful completion of Drivers Privileges for SHS Vehicles application process required.
- Experience and/or training with computer applications preferred.

Physical Demands
The following physical demands are required at varying frequencies:
- Rarely (1 - 10% of the time): Walk - incline, climb - ladder, lift (knee to chest: 24"-54") 0-20 lbs, lift (waist to eye: up to 54") 0-20 lbs, lift (overhead: 54" and above) 0-20 lbs, carry 2-handed 20-40 lbs, squat static (hold >30 sec), crawl (hands & knees), kneel (on knees), push (40-60 lbs force), push (60 or more lbs force).
- Occasionally (11 - 33% of the time): Enter & exit vehicle/machinery, climb - stairs, carry 1-handed 20-40 lbs, rotate trunk standing, push (20-40 lbs force).
- Frequently (34 - 66% of the time): Lift (floor to waist: 0"-36") 0-20 lbs, carry 2-handed 0-20 lbs, squat repetitive, rotate trunk sitting, reach - upward, pull (0-20 lbs force), stand, bend forward at waist, reach - forward, grasp hand/fist, push (0-20 lbs force).
- Continually (67 - 100% of the time): Walk - level surface, sit, carry 1-handed 0-20 lbs, manual dexterity (hands/wrists), finger dexterity, pinch (fingers).
