Job Summary
The Recovery Specialist II/Residential Counselor II is an evolution of the basic, Recovery Specialist I/Residential Counselor I position. Recovery Specialist II/Residential Counselor II staff is expected to continue to fulfill all expectations of a Recovery Specialist I/RC I. In addition to those expectations, the Recovery Specialist II/Residential Counselor II will take more of a leadership role and focus on medication room compliance.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain direct supportive contact with residents to continually assess their individual needs
- Transport clients to appointments as needed
- Acquire and maintain necessary certifications mandated by the Agency and licensing standards
- Facilitate treatment groups
- Develop strong, supportive relationships with clients, providing for their safety and care
- Collaborate with other departments in settings where care must be coordinated between medical, MAT, and psychiatric and behavioral needs
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Associate’s degree or Bachelor’s degree in human service field preferred
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working with psychiatric clients preferred
- Must have availability of an automobile to transport clients or perform other supportive services as necessary
- Bilingual Preferred (Spanish/English)
