Recovery Specialist- Male Residential

Primary Responsibilities

  • Ensure the physical and emotional safety of residents at all times.
  • Monitor residents during medication administration to ensure adherence to guidelines.
  • Conduct hourly room checks to ensure resident safety and compliance with program standards.
  • Maintain organization and cleanliness of key program areas, including food storage, equipment, refrigerators/freezers, and common spaces.
  • Actively participate in bi-weekly supervision meetings to review performance, address concerns, and improve care practices.
  • Oversee and support residents in developing life skills, fostering independence and personal growth.
  • Log and document any incidents, ensuring accurate and timely reporting in accordance with program protocols.
  • Enforce program policies and procedures, documenting any deviations and taking appropriate corrective action.

Requirements

  • Two years’ experience in health and human service-related field, preferably working with co-occurring behavioral health and substance use disorders.
  • Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor preferred.
  • Must possess a valid MA driver’s license.
  • Must be able to pass CORI and Drug Testing requirements.
  • Demonstrated understanding of, and committed to adhering to, federal and state policies (42 CFR Part 2, HIPAA).
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality, professionalism, & boundaries.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in verbal and written communication skills.
  • Candidates with lived expertise are encouraged to apply, if in recovery, must have two years of continuous sobriety.

Physical Requirements

  • Frequent interaction with providers, colleagues, clients, residents and visitors requiring the employee to communicate, as well as detect and interpret information, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, occasionally during emergency situations.
  • Frequent communication of accurate information, instructions, and ideas so others will understand.
  • Bending to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment up to twenty (20) pounds.
  • Frequent movement throughout the program, including up and down multiple flights of stairs to access, obtain, or distribute supplies (sometimes pushing or pulling equipment), conduct wellness checks, interact with clients and residents, etc.
  • Remain in a stationary position for an extended period, as needed.
