About the Role
The Registered Nurse at Orlando Health South Lake Hospital will be responsible for providing care to patients requiring complex assessment and therapies, high-intensity interventions, and high-level continuous nursing vigilance. They will also monitor and adjust specialized equipment, interpret electronic displays, and respond to life-saving situations based on nursing standards and protocol.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrates critical knowledge, skills, and judgement to care for patients requiring complex assessment and therapies, high-intensity interventions, and high-level continuous nursing vigilance.
- Utilizes information and assessment data to anticipate and respond with confidence and adapt to rapidly changing patient conditions.
- Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards.
- Communicates and collaborates with medical staff and interdisciplinary team to effectively plan and manage the unit/department.
- Prioritizes patient care in an ongoing manner in accordance with Evidence-Based Practice Standards of Care.
- Delegates tasks and duties to healthcare team members in accordance with the patient’s needs and the team member’s capabilities and qualifications.
- Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- Education/Training: Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree (BSN) preferred.
- Licensure/Certification: Current licensure as a registered nurse in the State of Florida or Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC). Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Certification in area of expertise: Preferred. May require one or more of the following certifications based on the assigned patient population: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC).
- Experience: 1 year of experience as an RN required; 2-3 years of experience in a Pre-Post/PACU/Recovery Room or an Advanced Care setting preferred.
