Recovery Engagement Specialist (FT,PT,PRN)

About the role

Connections Health Solutions is dedicated to providing immediate access to behavioral health crisis care and connecting individuals to long-term support within their communities. The RESET Center, operated by Connections, offers an alternative destination for individuals who are found to be publicly intoxicated due to alcohol and/or drugs, diverting them away from the emergency department or jail.

Responsibilities

• Take participant vital signs as delegated per protocol.
• Maintain a safe, calm, and supportive environment for participants through trauma-informed communication and de-escalation techniques.
• Engage participants in supportive, compassionate, and non-judgmental ways, fostering trust and rapport.
• Document participant status, observe behavior and condition, and complete required logs and documentation accurately and in real time.
• Respond promptly to participant needs and requests with empathy, patience, and excellent customer service.
• Provide snacks, hydration, blankets, and other comfort measures to support safe sobering.
• Identify escalating or unsafe behavior and notify supervisory or clinical team members promptly.
• Collaborate with other team members to maintain an orderly, non-judgmental environment.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience working with diverse populations including individuals experiencing substance use and intoxication, those living with homelessness or housing instability, those impacted by the criminal legal system, and those experiencing mental health crises.
• Familiarity with harm reduction, restorative and recovery-oriented practice, trauma-informed care, and basic computer literacy.
• Ability to obtain and accurately record vital signs, strong attention to detail, and ability to complete documentation in a timely manner.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within the first week of employment.
• Overdose Prevention and Narcan Administration training within 30 days of hire.
• At least two (2) of the following certifications: Alcohol & Other Drug (AOD) Certification, Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Crisis De-Escalation Training certification, or Emergency or field-based work experience.

Qualifications

• Must have lived experience with substance use, recovery, homelessness, or incarceration.

Skills

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations.
• Knowledge of trauma-informed care principles.
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology and procedures.

$23 - $27.09 USD
