About the role
This position prepares requested materials for pick-up or delivery by campus mail or personal delivery, loads materials into vehicles, and makes office deliveries.
Responsibilities
- Follow established schedules and optimum routes in records management delivery van.
- Coordinate and personally conduct daily retrieval and receipt of information/materials for users following established work schedules.
- Prioritize daily assignments to optimize work completion and travel time.
- Use computer software to manage inventory and maintain records storage information.
- Inspect incoming materials to ensure departments are sending appropriate material.
- Shelve and retrieve boxes and files following established safety procedures.
- Process outdated records for recycling; coordinate recycling pick-ups.
- Follow Records Center procedures for releasing materials to ensure proper authorizations are recorded and databases updated.
- Sign all confidentiality agreements and complete required training.
- Prepare and deliver records for confidential destruction.
- Operate a hydraulic pallet jack.
Requirements
- High school diploma and at least 1 year of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired.
- Ability to consistently lift boxes that weigh 50-70 pounds.
- Ability to climb ladders while carrying materials and boxes for storage/retrieval.
- Ability to operate mechanical equipment, e.g., hydraulic pallet jack.
- Possess or be able to obtain a valid Class E Driver’s License within 90 days and ability to operate a light to medium delivery vehicle.
- Ability to operate office equipment, e.g., duplicating machine, calculator, computerized records inventory, and office support software, or demonstrated ability to quickly and successfully learn to operate office systems used by the Records Center.
Schedule
Flexible hours and days between 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday.
Pay
$16.50 per hour.
