ReconstructionTechnician
Job Summary
The Reconstruction Technician is responsible for providing construction services as required on small construction projects. Reconstruction Technicians are responsible for delivering a high quality of construction and service in all dealings with customers, clients, subcontractors, resource providers, and company employees involved in managing construction services. In addition, they may be called upon to assist managing larger projects with a Supervisor, i.e., making calls to subcontractors and performing quality control.
Responsibilities
- Aid colleagues on-site by replenishing the required materials.
- Perform construction services to include but not limited to rough and finish carpentry, drywall, painting, prefinished hardwood, and installation of laminate flooring.
- Resolve punch list items in a timely manner.
- Provide project updates (daily narrative) to the Construction Coordinator in electronic format.
- Pick up and deliver material supplies and/or manage material deliveries.
- Document all project activities including photos, job diary, and signing documents in Dash.
- Maintain quality standards through site inspections.
- Perform construction services within budget and within scope.
- Validate schedule and progress with the Project Manager.
- Communicate information to customer and, in turn, update Supervisor with all responses.
- Train and develop junior technicians as needed.
- Demonstrate affected materials as needed.
- Remove, detach, store, and reattach furniture, appliances, and contents as needed.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma/GED is required.
- One year of experience in a construction role is required.
- Experience in tile, carpet, roofing, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC is a plus.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Excellent customer service skills.

- Ability to use small hand and power tools including miter saw.
- Ability to carry out simple tasks on a computer or hand-held devices.
- Ability to use safety equipment such as goggles, gloves, and earplugs as required or warranted.

- Ability to pay attention to detail and be thorough.
- Exhibit general knowledge of painting, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and roofing.
- Demonstrate basic drywall installation.
- Demonstrate the ability to install windows and doors.
- Demonstrate the ability to assist with roofing applications.
- Knowledge of the materials used in construction and maintenance projects.
- Demonstrate the ability to build temporary structures, such as scaffolding and bracing.
- Knowledge of operating machinery such as skid street, tractor, and dumpster trucks.
- Experience with mixing and pouring construction materials, including mortar, concrete and grout.
- Familiarity with installing and grouting tile.
- Demonstrate an understanding of removing and installing plumbing supply fixtures and supply lines.
Physical and Work Environment Requirements
- The employee is walking and/or standing throughout the day.
- Frequent driving and sitting.
- Occasionally climbing ladders.
- The employee is occasionally exposed to extreme conditions such as heat.
- The noise level at individual jobsites can be loud.
- The employee is exposed to power tools and other machinery.
Normal Working Hours, Additional Working Hours, and Travel Requirements
This is a full-time position, working hours varying between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday-Friday, a minimum of 40 hours per week. This position occasionally requires long hours (beyond 8 hours a day), working on-call, and weekend work in support of emergency services. Travel is required and is primarily local. However, some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.
