Job Summary
The Reconstruction Technician is responsible for providing construction services as required on small construction projects. They are responsible for delivering a high quality of construction and service in all dealings with customers, clients, subcontractors, resource providers, and company employees involved in managing construction services. In addition, they may be called upon to assist managing larger projects with a Supervisor, i.e., making calls to subcontractors and performing quality control.
Responsibilities
- Aid colleagues on-site by replenishing the required materials.
- Perform construction services to include but not limited to rough and finish carpentry, drywall, painting, prefinished hardwood, and installation of laminate flooring.
- Resolve punch list items in a timely manner.
- Provide project updates (daily narrative) to the Construction Coordinator in electronic format.
- Pick up and deliver material supplies and/or manage material deliveries.
- Document all project activities including photos, job diary, and signing documents in Dash.
- Maintain quality standards through site inspections.
- Perform construction services within budget and within scope.
- Validate schedule and progress with the Project Manager.
- Communicate information to customer and, in turn, update Supervisor with all responses.
- Train and develop junior technicians as needed.
- Demonstrate affected materials as needed.
- Remove, detach, store, and reattach furniture, appliances, and contents as needed.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma/GED is required.
- One year experience in a construction role is required.
- Experience in tile, carpet, roofing, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC is a plus.
Physical and Work Environment Requirements
- The employee is occasionally exposed to extreme conditions such as heat.
- The noise level at individual jobsites can be loud.
- The employee is exposed to power tools and other machinery.
- This is a full-time position, working hours varying between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday-Friday, a minimum of 40 hours per week.
- This position occasionally requires long hours (beyond 8 hours a day), working on-call, and weekend work in support of emergency services.
- Travel is required and is primarily local. However, some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.
