Schedule
- Full-time, part-time, temporary, or PRN role based at Greenville OB/GYN location
- Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
- Overtime may be required to ensure patient care, task completion, and timely call returns
- Weekend work is rare but occasionally necessary
- Daily start time: 7:30 a.m.; end time may extend to 6:00 p.m. with some late nights required
About The Role
The Reception position is often the first point of contact for patients or their family members, either in person or via phone. Reception staff ensure optimization of the patient visit through knowledgeable, reliable, and courteous interactions while maintaining accurate patient demographic and insurance information. This role works closely with all care team members to perform a variety of office functions.
Responsibilities
- Practice exceptional customer service by greeting every patient and calling them forward promptly for check-in
- Effectively communicate between administrative, clinical, insurance, lab, diagnostic, patient assistance, security, and provider teams
- Provide and explain required forms and paperwork at check-in
- Verify active insurance, in-network/out-of-network eligibility, and authorizations
- Collect copays, coinsurance, and outstanding balances
- Adhere to and explain financial policies to patients as needed
- Coordinate multiple areas and resources to resolve scheduling, insurance, and clinical conflicts
- Take initiative in learning new tasks, processes, and software/systems
- Grow knowledge of company policies and procedures
- Adhere to safety practices and policies
- Align with company mission and reflect dedication in daily efforts
- Direct feedback, including patient complaints, to the Patient Liaison, Operations Manager, Operations Supervisors, and team members
- Carefully verify, enter, and update patient demographic information
- Manage individual till, including cash, checks, and credit cards, and balance funds with encounter tickets and transactions
- Schedule, coordinate, cancel, and reschedule patient appointments
- Document detailed information for clinical staff follow-up in AthenaFlow
- Tactfully connect patients with delinquent accounts to patient representatives for financial agreements and billing questions
- Adapt to additional administrative needs and assist in any required tasks or orientation in any area
Requirements
- High School diploma required
- One or more years of secretarial or medical assistant experience
- Associates Degree preferred

- Some bending and stretching required
- Manual dexterity required for use of calculator and computer keyboard
