Receptionist

Position Information

Location: 1855 Place Welcome Desk
Pay Rate: $13.73 per hour

Responsibilities

• Answering questions via phones, on-line and in person from students, parents, staff, and the general public.
• Sorting, logging and distributing mail and packages.
• Aiding in maintaining records and accounts, running errands.
• Aiding in basic building operations.

Requirements

• Be enrolled as a student at Michigan State University (during academic year)
• Demonstrated commitment to outstanding customer service
• Motivated self-starter and able to complete tasks in a timely manner with minimal supervision
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
• Positive and respectful, especially when working with a diverse population
• Dependable and reliable
• Must be able to work this Fall Semester 2026 and Spring Semester 2027

Physical Demands

• Be able to lift up to 25 pounds
• Be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time
• Be able to work in a very fast pace environment

Work Hours

• May require different shifts based on operational needs
• Monday through Friday 7:15 am to 7:15 pm
• Saturday and Sunday 8:45 am – 7:15pm
