Receiving & Returns Supervisor

About the role

The Receiving & Returns Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all receiving and returns activities within the Distribution Center, ensuring the accurate, timely, and efficient processing of inbound shipments and returned merchandise. This role supervises daily operations related to receiving, inventory transactions, inspections, returns processing, and documentation while maintaining inventory accuracy and operational excellence. The position works closely with carriers, vendors, Customer Service, Brand teams, and internal stakeholders to resolve discrepancies, improve processes, and ensure service level expectations are consistently achieved. The Supervisor is also responsible for fostering a safe and productive work environment and supporting continuous improvement initiatives throughout the warehouse.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing all receiving and returns activities within the Distribution Center.
• Ensuring accurate, timely, and efficient processing of inbound shipments and returned merchandise.
• Supervising daily operations related to receiving, inventory transactions, inspections, returns processing, and documentation.
• Maintaining inventory accuracy and operational excellence.
• Working closely with carriers, vendors, Customer Service, Brand teams, and internal stakeholders to resolve discrepancies, improve processes, and ensure service level expectations are consistently achieved.
• Fostering a safe and productive work environment.
• Supporting continuous improvement initiatives throughout the warehouse.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in warehouse operations, distribution, receiving, returns processing, inventory control, or related logistics functions.
• At least 2 years of supervisory or leadership experience within a warehouse or distribution center environment.
• Demonstrated experience leading and developing warehouse associates, including performance management, coaching, and training.
• Ability to create, implement, and maintain training programs, standard operating procedures, and process documentation when needed.
• Strong understanding of inventory management practices, receiving procedures, returns processing, and warehouse operations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel, and the ability to learn warehouse management systems and related technologies.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and perform effectively under pressure.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments and levels of the organization.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, and lift up to 50 pounds as required in a warehouse environment.
• Experience within luxury goods, consumer products, retail distribution, or e-commerce fulfillment environments preferred.
