Receiving Lead

Job Summary

The Receiving Lead at Giant Eagle ensures quick and accurate delivery of products, maintains a safe and secure environment, and provides exceptional customer service.

Job Responsibilities

• Support a culture of safety including food safety, Team Member safety, and customer safety
• Process all DSD vendor and third-party deliveries and returns according to established procedures and company standards
• Maintain a clean and organized receiving area operation
• Maintain a safe/secure environment by adhering to health and OSHA requirements
• Ensure DSD vendors follow company standards regarding accuracy, safety, and security
• Conduct vendor spot checks and maintain proper signature logs for DSD vendors/deliveries
• Notify departments of perishable deliveries in a timely manner
• Maintain proper documentation and reporting for pricing discrepancies, unauthorized/damaged product, and vendor compliance violations
• Manage immediate area outside of receiving room to ensure efficient delivery
• Maintain necessary equipment for receiving purposes and report any problems for correction/repairs
• Make bales by operating a paper baler
• Dispose of trash using an automatic compactor
• Organize flats/backroom for evening crew

Requirements

• Experience: 6 months to 1 year; desire to become a Non-Union Team Leader
• Desired Experience: Customer Service Experience; 1 to 2 years of shipping and/or receiving experience preferred
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent
• Certification/Licensing: DSD Certification preferred
• Lifting Requirement: Up to 50 pounds
• Age Requirement: At least 18 years of age
