Receiving Coordinator
About the role
The Receiving Coordinator is responsible for the acceptance and inspection of incoming shipments to ensure the accuracy of material received. This role tags new material, updates inventory, and maintains receiving paperwork.
Responsibilities
- Reconcile records, such as manifests, invoices, or orders with receiving material to verify accuracy
- Inspect material for transit damage and/or defects
- If required, verify gauge, width, coil measurements, and hardness
- Record receiving data, such as weight, charges, space availability, damages, or discrepancies, for reporting, accounting, or recordkeeping purposes
- Update inventory through Invex
- Generate inventory tag; confirm accuracy; tag and identify material
- Communicate with sales, suppliers, truck drivers, and supervisor to rectify problems, such as damages, shortages, or quality
- Absorb and assist other personnel when needed in storage areas
- Clean and maintain housekeeping of receiving office, docks, and surrounding area
Requirements
- Ability to routinely climb stairs, ladders, or platforms
- Ability to routinely bend and squat
- Ability to walk and stand for prolonged periods of time
- Ability to repetitively grasp
- Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
