Real ID Specialist (Limited Duration)
About the role
The Real ID Specialist (Limited Duration) position at the Oregon Department of Transportation's Driver and Motor Vehicles Division (DMV) Field Services Group / South Region in Klamath Falls assists the public with obtaining Real ID compliant identification cards and answers questions related to Real ID.
Responsibilities
- Assist the public with obtaining Real ID compliant identification cards.
- Serve as a primary representative in the office for Real ID transactions.
- Accurately produce photo licenses, instruction permits and identification cards.
- Administer, correct and explain driver license knowledge test.
- Conduct vision tests.
- Explain state and federal requirements for different driver and identification transactions.
- Provide exceptional customer service while following privacy laws.
- Communicate clearly with customers from diverse backgrounds to accurately answer complex questions.
- Collaborate with office leaders and managers to ensure efficient operations related to issuing Real ID.
- Examine documents for eligibility prior to issuing credentials.
- Prepare daily reports and balance transactions at the end of each day.
- Travel to other offices in the region to perform relief work.
Requirements
- Two years of public contact/customer service experience which involved dealing with the public in person or by phone providing information about services/programs or explaining and/or applying rules, regulations and procedures.
- Experience or training using computers to retrieve and input data.
- Three months experience collecting money and making change.
- Completion of an associate’s degree will substitute for one year of the public contact experience.

Pay
Comprehensive and equitable base salary offer within the listed range. Salary range is the non-PERS monthly salary range. If you are already a participating PERS member or once you become PERS eligible, the salary range will increase by 6.95%.
