About the Role

Our client, a prominent international AmLaw 50 law firm, is seeking an experienced Senior Associate or Counsel to join its Real Estate practice in New York. This role is well suited for a seasoned real estate attorney with deep experience in real estate finance, particularly on the lender-side, who can independently manage complex transactions from initial structuring through closing. The position offers significant responsibility, direct client interaction, and the opportunity to work on sophisticated, high-value real estate financings within a collaborative and dynamic environment.

Requirements

  • JD from a top-tier law school with an excellent academic record
  • Active Bar Admission in New York in good standing
  • 7+ years of substantive real estate transactional experience
  • Significant experience with real estate financing transactions, including lender representation
  • Strong background in loan document drafting, negotiation, and execution
  • Experience conducting and reviewing title and survey diligence
  • Proven ability to independently manage transactions from structuring through closing
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and sound commercial judgment

Responsibilities

  • Represent lenders and other clients in complex commercial real estate transactions
  • Draft, review, and negotiate loan agreements and related transaction documents
  • Conduct title and survey review, analysis, and resolution of related issues
  • Provide strategic guidance to clients on real estate financing structures and risk mitigation
  • Independently manage transaction workflows, timelines, and deal execution
  • Interface directly with clients, opposing counsel, and other transaction participants
  • Collaborate with attorneys across related practice areas as needed

Pay

Expected minimum annual salary for this position is $420,000, as determined by experience and market factors. Eligibility for the firm's generous bonus structure.
