About the Role
As a real estate paralegal, you will assist attorneys in all aspects of commercial real estate transactions, including documentation, due diligence, closing, and post-closing activities for real estate acquisitions, dispositions, and leasing. You will be a member of the firm’s Real Estate department, reporting to the attorneys on your team.
Responsibilities
- Order and review title commitments, exception documents, and surveys, interfacing directly with the title company and surveyor to resolve any issues or discrepancies.
- Prepare title objection letters and negotiate title policies.
- Prepare and administer contract critical dates and closing checklists.
- Coordinate and assist with all aspects of closings, including preparation of conveyance documents, closing statements, and other closing documents.
- Attend to all post-closing requirements, including preparing closing indices, organizing closing binders, and monitoring post-closing deliveries and requirements.
- Prepare clear and concise correspondence and memoranda.
- Draft initial documents, amendments to agreements or leases, and miscellaneous documents such as estoppel certificates, SNDAs, and Memos of Lease for attorney review.
- Review organizational and authority documents.
- Order UCC Lien and other searches.
Requirements
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in commercial real estate transactions, including experience with acquisitions, dispositions, and leasing. Law firm and in-house experience will be considered.
- A Bachelor’s degree and/or paralegal certificate (or equivalent experience).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and Outlook or similar mail/calendar technology.
- Legal research skills and knowledge of relevant databases.
- Strong writing, organizational, and communication skills.

Pay
The salary range for this role is $95,000–$105,000 annually, based on a 40-hour work week. This range applies to jobs performed in Boston. An employee’s pay within the salary range will be based on factors including relevant education, qualifications, experience, skills, and business or organizational needs.
