About the Role

Greenberg Traurig (GT), a global law firm with locations across 15 countries, is seeking a highly skilled Real Estate Paralegal to join our Real Estate team in the San Diego office. This role is a hybrid position based in our One Paseo-San Diego location. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, possesses strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, and demonstrates professionalism, attention to detail, and the ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in drafting, managing, and organizing various documents related to real estate transactions, including escrow instructions, title and survey review, entity formations, UCC searches, local transfer requirements, and due diligence.
  • Utilize, create, or establish procedures to manage large, complex transactions; attend closings and manage closing rooms; coordinate workflow and manage execution of closing documents; track, obtain, and organize pre- and post-closing documents to assure performance of obligations.
  • Draft closing documents, including basic agreements and third-party consents; compile information and prepare schedules and exhibits to agreements.
  • Assist with post-closing matters, including mailings, closing binders, and transfer agreements.
  • Manage the preparation and filing of various documents, including amendments and closing documents, as well as preparation of opinions for partner approval.
  • Serve as a mentor to and provide leadership and training for mid- and entry-level paralegals and paralegal clerks.
  • Maintain timely and accurate timekeeping records.
  • Assist with other department activities as needed and perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Be flexible to work overtime as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; must be qualified as pursuant to the California Business and Professional Code 6450.
  • Preferred: Paralegal Certificate from an ABA Accredited Program or a Paralegal Certification as issued by the NALA or the NFPA.
  • Minimum of five or more years of real estate paralegal experience within a law firm with demonstrated knowledge of complex issues within the real estate practice area.
  • Computer proficiency in Windows-based software and Microsoft Office Suite applications, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Exceptional computer skills with the ability to learn new software applications quickly.

Physical Requirements

  • Occasionally required to move from workstation or desk throughout the work area to work independently or with a team, meet with colleagues, or retrieve work assignments.
  • May be sedentary and require sitting for extended periods of time.
  • Requires manual dexterity to dial a telephone, enter data into a computer, handle objects, and use office equipment.
  • Some filing is required, which may entail lifting files, opening filing cabinets, and bending or standing as necessary.

Pay

The expected pay range for this position is $55-$66 per hour. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience, location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
