About the role

The Closing Paralegal position at McManamy Jackson Hollis, LLC is non-exempt and reports to the Administrative Manager. This position will be based in the firm's new location in Bluffton, SC, with a short period of training in the Savannah office.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate & coordinate closing processes and procedures with the Firm’s clients
  • Draft and organize various transactional documents for closing transactions such as Deeds, Affidavits, Powers of Attorney, Closing Statements, etc.
  • Prepare title commitments and policies
  • Cover closing schedules and logistics
  • Balance accounting ledgers and manage receipt and disbursement of closing funds
  • Maintain detailed paper and electronic documentation for audit compliance
  • Show organizational and time management skills
  • Work under pressure with strict deadlines and exhibit teamwork
  • Exhibit respect for client confidentiality and express thoughts clearly and concisely
  • Participate in system-focused workflow processes and share ideas with colleagues
  • Exhibit a strong work ethic and respect for financial controls
  • Participate in staff conferences and show enthusiasm for the job
  • Pass a criminal background check

Requirements

  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • 3+ years of previous experience in real estate, banking, insurance, compliance, or accountancy
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Basic skills in Microsoft Outlook, Word & Excel
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Real estate software experience such as SoftPro, Closers Choice, Qualia preferred

Qualifications

  • Basic understanding of sound accounting practices in accordance with Federal and State laws as well as internal firm policies and procedures
