About the Role

We are seeking a Real Estate Closing Paralegal to support residential real estate transactions and bank closings. This is a client-facing, high-volume role at the center of every deal, working directly alongside the attorney in a collaborative, low-bureaucracy environment.

Responsibilities

  • Transaction Management
    • Assist with residential transactions from contract through closing
    • Manage a portfolio of active files simultaneously and drive each one to the table
    • Prepare files and closing packages for scheduled closings
  • Documentation and Requirements
    • Order and review title reports, surveys, payoffs, and municipal searches
    • Clear title objections and satisfy lender and bank closing requirements
    • Prepare, collect, and review closing documentation
    • Assist with closing statement preparation and fee balancing
  • Communication and Coordination
    • Coordinate daily with buyers, sellers, lenders, banks, real estate agents, title companies, and opposing attorneys
    • Serve as a day-to-day point of contact for clients and outside parties
    • Schedule closings and confirm all parties are prepared
  • Closing and Post-Closing
    • Assist with closings and handle day-of coordination
    • Manage disbursement documentation and recording follow-up
    • Collect trailing documents and complete file wrap-up

Qualifications

Required:

  • Prior real estate, title, mortgage, or bank closing experience
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent transactions under deadline
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with strong follow-through
  • Personable and responsive, with strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office

Preferred:

  • Familiarity with New York residential closing practice and the attorney-driven closing process
  • Working knowledge of TRID timelines, Closing Disclosures, and lender closing instructions
  • Paralegal certificate or equivalent formal training
  • Title production or closing software experience

What We Offer

  • Substantive responsibility and direct attorney mentorship
  • A collaborative small-office environment where your work is visible and your judgment is trusted
  • Meaningful ownership of your files rather than a narrow slice of the process

This is a hands-on role for someone who is organized, dependable, and energized by keeping a busy closing calendar moving.
