About the Role

We are looking for an experienced real estate attorney to support sophisticated property and business transactions in Baltimore, Maryland. This role offers the opportunity to advise developers, investors, builders, property owners, and tenants on complex matters spanning development, financing, leasing, and acquisitions.

Responsibilities

  • Advise clients on a broad range of commercial real estate matters, including purchase and sale transactions involving mixed-use and other development projects.
  • Support land acquisition and disposition activities by preparing, reviewing, and negotiating transaction documents and guiding deals through closing.
  • Counsel clients on site development matters and help structure legal strategies that align with project objectives and risk considerations.
  • Assist with the formation and organization of business entities used in real estate investments and related ventures.
  • Work on project financing matters by reviewing loan documentation, coordinating with stakeholders, and helping facilitate timely closings.
  • Draft, analyze, and negotiate commercial leasing agreements for landlords and tenants across a variety of property types.
  • Prepare and negotiate joint venture, operating, and shareholder-related agreements connected to real estate and broader business transactions.
  • Handle legal aspects of business acquisitions and sales, including due diligence, document drafting, and transaction execution.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience practicing law with a focus on commercial real estate transactions.
  • Demonstrated background in real estate acquisitions and dispositions, including contract drafting and deal management.
  • Experience advising on business entity formation and related organizational documents.
  • Working knowledge of project finance structures and transaction documentation.
  • Proven ability to draft and negotiate commercial lease agreements.
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Juris Doctor degree and active license to practice law in good standing.
