Real Estate Acquisition Specialist - Hybrid

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead real estate negotiation and acquisition strategies for municipal and WisDOT projects, including acquisition cost estimating, property acquisitions, negotiation activities, and relocation processes.
  • Handle negotiation aspects of relocation services, ensuring adherence to WisDOT and federal Uniform Act requirements.
  • Cook up meetings with landowners, including businesses and government agencies, to facilitate acquisition discussions and negotiation activities.
  • Evaluate plans, plats, maps, and related documents to identify right-of-way and ownership details, and prepare land-rights documents such as easements, options, permits, and project records.

Skills and Requirements

  • 2-10 years experience in Transportation real estate/right-of-way services: negotiation and acquisition.
  • WisDOT approved Negotiator, or ability to obtain.
  • Notary Public, or ability to obtain.
  • Familiarity with WisDOT Real Estate Program Manual.
  • Understanding and experience with real estate laws, eminent domain principles and practices, the Uniform Act, and NEPA.
  • Ability to flex hours to include evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Applicable U.S. based work experience.
