About the role

Teach students with special educational needs in a general curriculum setting.

Responsibilities

• Implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Collaborate with other special education teachers and support staff
• Assess student progress and adjust instruction accordingly
• Participate in IEP meetings

Requirements

• Hold a teaching certificate in Special Education General Curriculum
• Have already passed the GACE test in Special Ed General Curriculum
• Preferred: Pass the GACE in Special Ed Academic Content Concentrations relevant to the subjects taught

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of special education principles and practices
• Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Skills

• Proficient in using assistive technology
• Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet individual student needs
