Readmissions Coordinator

About the role

The primary purpose of the position is to cultivate relationships with students who are eligible to be readmitted to the University, coordinate and accurately process readmit applications, and counsel readmitted students until they transition to a departmental advisor. This position will also serve as the liaison between Undergraduate Admissions, the Office of the Registrar, End Zone, and Transfer Services for all topics related to readmit students and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Expresses the knowledge and ability to present ideas clearly, consistently, and in an organized manner the policies and procedures of the University, and those of relative state and federal guidelines, especially those of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
  • Prepares accurately appropriate letters, memorandums, official transcripts, and other documents as required by the request of the faculty, staff, students, and other customers.
  • Selects, understands, and fully applies a variety of features in software programs (Microsoft Office Suite Products, HighView and Banner XtenderSolutions Imaging Software); databases (Imaging References Database); information systems (Banner and AdmissionsPro); specialized equipment (scanners, fax machines, copiers, network printers).
  • Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of the evaluation, processing of the Readmissions and Repeat Grade Processes to include archiving, imaging, and management of the readmissions student documents and records to include sensitivity of the records and also to prepare for proper storage, retention, and disposition.
  • Recognize, define, and resolve non-standard problems using operating procedures, practices, and established precedents. Resolves recurring issues and problems as well as some unique situations.
  • Prepares for proper storage, retention, and disposition of readmissions student documents and records, including archiving, imaging, and management.
  • Updates the Banner Student System as required with appropriate approved documentation.
  • Requests assistance from the Imaging Liaison & Coordinator with academic record search and retrieval.
  • Demonstrates records processing activities requiring the application and some interpretation of agency procedures, policies, laws, and regulations. Reviews information for completeness and accuracy using multiple guidelines.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalency and one year of related office experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience.

Qualifications

  • A working knowledge of Student Banner or equivalent systems.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Excel) Applications.
  • Knowledge of the processing, archiving, imaging, and management of student documents and records to include sensitivity of the records.
  • Ability to work independently without direct supervision.
  • Ability to take initiative to develop, monitor, and complete projects and assignments within designated timeframes.
  • Ability to learn, interpret and analyze diverse information to make necessary decisions.
  • Ability to exercise judgment and discretion in identifying issues and related problem solving.
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written, oral communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively and collaboratively with a wide range of individuals to provide support, manage projects, negotiate, and explain information.
