Reading Specialist Part time $80 to 85 per hour

Boston Speech Therapy, a locally owned woman‑SLP‑owned company in Boston, seeks a part‑time, in‑person Reading Specialist. The role provides individualized support to students facing challenges with reading and literacy, fostering strong reading skills and a love for learning.

Responsibilities

• Administer assessments to evaluate students' reading levels and identify specific needs.
• Develop and implement tailored instructional plans that address individual student challenges.
• Provide one‑on‑one or small‑group reading instruction focusing on fluency, comprehension, and phonics.
• Employ a range of evidence‑based teaching strategies and materials to enhance learning.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and specialists to monitor progress and modify instruction as necessary.
• Keep detailed records of student progress and assessment results.

Requirements

• MA Reading Teacher License.
• Previous experience as a Reading Specialist or in a related educational role.
• Strong grasp of evidence‑based reading instruction methods.
• Familiarity with specialized reading programs such as OG or Wilson (a plus).
• Ability to assess individual student needs and develop effective intervention strategies.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Flexibility in adapting instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
